We’re Looking for Angels!

It goes without saying we think it’s tremendously important to help Ellie walk, and after her parents did a lot of research, it seems that the surgery in St. Louis is the best way to accomplish that. Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy has helped a lot of other kids with Cerebral Palsy, and the doctors think it can also help Ellie.

The immediate problem is how to pay for the surgery. Since it’s easily $40,000 for the medical bills, which doesn’t include incidentals like transportation, meals and lodging for her parents, that’s a HUGE sum of money.

We’re looking for angels to help us.

Of course, monetary donations are always welcome, and I’ve already put a button in the sidebar for tbat! But obviously we can’t rely on just one thing, and need to find ways to raise more money.  So look for these additions to this site in upcoming weeks:

* Café Press Store – Once I find just the right picture, I’ll be setting up this store so we can sell hats, tote bags and t-shirts with a picture of Ellie on it. Over top of the picture I plan to put something like “I’m one of Ellie’s Angels!” and underneath her picture will be the website address, www.HelpingEllieWalk.com.

* Donation Station – Ever watch a public tv station fundraiser? You know, donate “X” amount of dollars and you can get this gift, or a higher amount, and you get a nicer gift. We’re looking for people who can donate gifts for this section. Handcrafted items, something from your business, just anything! So if you have something you’d like to share, please send it along and check out the next section…

* Ellie’s Angels – My favorite section!  It will have listings of people who donated gifts or money to Ellie’s cause. It’d be great advertising for people with blogs or a business to have their name and website listed there. Yes, we’d include a link to your site! However, if you prefer to remain anonymous, don’t worry. Just let us know, and your name won’t be put there.

* Gratitude Gifts – This is where the available gifts will be listed for people wishing to make donations and then receive the gift they have chosen.
